Selected to be part of Puzzle#7 - program for performing arts, organised by Stanica/Station- service for contemporary dance, Belgrade, Serbia.

 

This year, Puzzle#7 puts a special emphasis on dramaturgy in dance to support the creation of a dance and choreographic work of art. Dramaturgy provides knowledge and means to make choreographic ideas grounded and comprehensible through the relationships of body, movement, space, light, music, text and other elements, but also to contextualize these same ideas in a cultural-artistic, wider social, political or economic environment and connected with the immediate or wider environment.

This year's program is intended for young choreographers who have already realized original works, and currently have a clear idea of what they would like to develop with the support of the Puzzle#7 program.

The program starts on April 10/2023 and lasts until October 27/2023 with the final presentation of the works, at the end of November 2023. For the first time, the Puzzle#7 program provides a group trip to Zagreb and cooperation with the partner program Modular School in the organization Nomad Dance Academy Croatia.

Participants are invited to develop their original projects during the duration of the program, through cooperation, self-organization and mutual support and with the professional help of Stanica and the Puzzle team (Marko Milić and Marijana Cvetković).

The program is completely free for participants, like other programs that the Station for Artists and the Audience develops in the local dance community.

This is the way in which the Station wants to encourage artists to participate more actively in the contemporary dance scene, present author's and performers' works, take advantage of opportunities to establish future artistic collaborations, gain relevant educational and artistic experience and acquire expanded knowledge about the context of contemporary dance and contemporary art in general.

Puzzle#7 is a new cycle within the Puzzle platform, the aim of which is the systematic exchange of knowledge and experiences between a generation of established choreographers and theorists and younger artists, but also the presentation of an open, experimental, inclusive education model that questions the academic and institutional treatment of contemporary performing arts.
