The class includes warm-up exercises, sun salutations (surya namaskar), postures
(asanas) and relaxation (shavasana).
Depending on the needs of the group,
other yoga practices such as breathing exercises (pranayama) and meditation techniques
may also be included.
Regular practice tones the whole
body and promotes overall health and well- being by improving breathing habits
and by increasing strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and
concentration.
The class is suitable for all levels
of practitioners as long as they can move through the levels of space with
relative ease and they do not have any serious injury or illness.
